The heat level in this book is turnt all the way up. Thankfully, the team being on the run wasn't dragged out. They got found right away which led to a pretty big development. It was unexpected, but I like it. Marcella is getting stronger rapidly and her vampire comes out to play often. I'm enjoying the development of the harem and I can't wait to see what comes next after that ending.My only issue is that a few transitions felt kind of disjointed. One moment, the team is one place and the next, They are someplace else. It threw me off a bit while reading, but I was able to get past it.
Paranormal. Rh. 6 vampires. Marcella and the guys are on the run from the council. Also running into some unexpected problem. This books focus is on making bonds and new abilities. Big cliffhanger going on. Excellent.
This is the second book in Salsang Chronicles. You definitely need to read the first book to fully understand and appreciate the second book. The author has created a complex and fascinating world, but more details are given in the first book that not only provide worldbuilding but show how the characters’ relationships evolve.Marcella and her Brotherhood are on the run. They think they found a safe house, but it is compromised rather quickly. Darius shows up, and something that I won't give away of a most surprising nature occurs, shocking Marcella, the Brotherhood and Darius. Darius states he is there to give them a mission.What exactly is this mission? Is Darius what he seems? How will Marcella's relationship with the Brotherhood change in this book? What dangers will they come up against?I enjoyed seeing how Marcella took to her powers as a newly created but rogue Sixth. She definitely has powers that most Sixths don’t, surprising herself, her Brotherhood, and higher-ups in the council! I also enjoyed watching her evolving relationships with the men in her Brotherhood. Too, it was interesting to watch how the men's interaction changed as their relationship evolved with Marcella.Like the first book, this one told in alternating viewpoints between Marcella and members of the Brotherhood. As I found previously, I didn't feel like there was enough distinction between their voices to make each narrator truly unique. There was less profanity in this book than the previous one, which I appreciated. For some reason, even though I read both books, I had a hard time distinguishing each member of the Brotherhood. Who's the mind walker? Who's the half-druid? Who's the half-shifter? Which one's moody? Which one's tough? Which is puppy-like? What exactly is each of their talents? I almost got out an index card to try to keep track of their names, nicknames, abilities, and personalities.Even though this is the second book of the series and the author states that the first book should be read previous to embarking on this one, I thought there needed to be little refresher course about some of the aspects of this world. It has been a little while since I had read the first book, so had forgotten what some of the specialized vocabulary used here meant.The book had the common issues with grammar, punctuation, and usage, but I didn't find this overly distracting.If you enjoy paranormal books that are based on groups working together, you might find this series interesting. I sincerely hope that this series continues for a long time as I do love the world the author has created.I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow what a ending I'm not even mad at that major epic CLIFFHANGER I will say this much though that ending have me all sorts of messed up inside!!! So eager to see else is in store for this series. The added plot twists and turns with plenty of action, magic, intrigue, and of course steamy romance definitely help keep you hooked from beginning to end. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read and great continuation to the series. I freaking loved this book! So much that I read it in one sitting...I really like Marcella. She struggles with her past & needs to feel loved but she has an excellent grasp on who she is and her faults. In this book she really starts to grow into her powers and it's amazing to see how she wields them. All of her guys are awesome and we really get to know them better in this book. She also has a new addition to her men that was surprising but I have to admit I'm loving him! It was a great read and if you haven't started this series run out and get book 1 Stained Egos - I promise you'll love it.
The second book in this series is quite different to book one...not bad different but not what I expected after reading the first book! I have to admit I did not like another joining her harem before she even got to fully connect with three of the five. I want more of them with her but it is difficult when there is so many of them, some are always going to be left out. Then that ending, a cliffhanger that left me s little heat broken. I am still really enjoying this series it just went in a new direction for me but I am intrigued by this oath it is in. Another interesting, exciting, emotionally charged book by these talented authors! Bring on book three.
This was amazing! I was holding my breath at every turn of the page. Action, angst, power, lust, everything I want in an epic read. I loved this book and even the first. This second did not disappoint and I know the third will be beyond amazing. Wonderful storytelling and world building. Marcella is my current girl crush heroine and her harem is every bit delicious as well!
What a great read, full of fun, emotions and steamy situations! What not to love there?!Marcella had got her Brotherhood - yay! But... They had to go rogue! Her luck all the way!Bonds will be growing stronger as well as new one will be made (unexpected one in that case ). Nothing can go as expected. As the more is revealed about Saslangs and Puresangs the more I got captivated in that intriguing world of paranormal.The action was rather slow at the beginning to go to extream twists and turns in the end. Loved that! Can't wait for book 2!
